Negotiations Update

The EUnetHTA project proposal has been approved for co-financing from the Commission subject to further legal and financial specifications will be provided.

On October 3, 2005, representatives of DACEHTA had a constructive and positive first negotiation with the representatives of the DG SANCO of the EU Commission in Luxembourg.

The outcome of the negotiation process until now and of this meeting includes the following:

  • WP2 (dissemination) and WP8 (clearinghouse) were merged into a new WP 2 (EUnetHTA Communications) with SBU, Sweden, as a lead partner (working closely with DAHTA@DIMDI, Germany), which means that there will be eight WPs in total.
  • Some project deliverables were modified to reflect the current level of contribution from the Commission and the partners.
  • The Commission indicated that the project may begin its reimbursable activities in January 2006, provided that all necessary administrative and financial documentation is submitted within the indicated timeframe. The main and associated partners continue to work intensively to meet the required deadlines.

To streamline the introduction of the adjustments in the project description and plan for the project activities to start as soon as the project becomes a reality, the EUnetHTA Secretariat continues to work intensively with the associated partners and will hold a meeting with the Lead Partners on October 19, 2005.
