The HTA Core Model defines the content elements to be considered in a health technology assessment (HTA) and facilitates standardised reporting. The aim is to share information, to avoid duplication of work, and to facilitate the adaptation of information in national HTA reports and the co-production of HTA reports (by multiple HTA agencies). Because different types of technology – such as pharmaceuticals, devices or procedures – may require different kinds of assessment, it was decided that different Core Model applications should be developed for their assessment. This document describes the model application for the rapid relative effectiveness assessment (REA) of pharmaceuticals, entitled the ‘HTA Core Model® for Rapid Relative Effectiveness Asssessment of Pharmaceuticals’ abbreviated as ‘Model for Rapid REA of Pharmaceuticals’.
