Call for Expression of Interest for health care product developers – SEED (Shaping European Early Dialogues)

SEED – the Shaping European Early Dialogues Consortium – led by the French Haute Autorité de Santé and financed by a European Commission call for tender – was set up to explore various scenarios for conducting early dialogues (EDs) between health technology assessors and healthcare product developers during the development phase of medicinal products and medical devices.

A Call for Expression of Interest to participate in SEED’s pilot activities is open from December 2013 throughout October 2014. It is directed at healthcare product/technology (pharmaceuticals as well as medical devices) developers and sponsors. Once candidates have been selected for 10 EDs, additional applications may be considered for a ‘reserve’ list.

Expression of interest and questions about SEED should be directed to the SEED coordinating team at: earlydialogues@has-sante.fr

The pilot dialogues to be performed by SEED will be building on the experience gained from the EDs conducted within EUnetHTA (EUnetHTA JA2 WP7)* serving as a basis for the development of two draft methodological protocols for drug and medical device EDs. These draft protocols will be submitted for commenting by EUnetHTA and the HTAN network. The SEED Consortium members are also partners in EUnetHTA Joint Action 2. The European Medicines Agency, EMA, is planned to participate as observer in the SEED early dialogues on medicinal products.
