EUnetHTA JA WP4 has finalized the first public draft of the HTA Core Model for screening technologies. The Core Model describes a structured format for creating and presenting HTA results. The structured format allows sharing work and information. Additionally, the Model contains methodology sections attached to nine domains, each representing one aspect of assessment. There is an Online Tool available for EUnetHTA members to facilitate the use of the Model in multinational HTA projects.
The HTA Core Model for screening technologies builds on the work of the other two HTA Core Model applications developed during the EUnetHTA project 2006-08: the Model for medical and surgical interventions and the Model for diagnostic technologies.
Several EUnetHTA WP4 and WP4 Stakeholder Advisory Group members have already commented the draft model. Now there is an opportunity for all of you to give your feedback. Do you find that the questions presented in the model cover all the important aspects in the assessment of screening programs? Are the methodological guidance of good quality and useful for HTA doers?
You find the draft Core Model for screening technologies attached as a pdf document (170 pages). It is divided into a general part and 9 domain chapters, á 10-20 pages.
