EUnetHTA Recommendations on the implementation of a sustainable European network for HTA underway

The EUnetHTA Recommendations on the implementation of a sustainable European network for HTA is now going into final stages of its development.

Preparing the recommendations is Deliverable 1 in the EUnetHTA Joint Action 2 (EUnetHTA JA2) Grant Agreement with the European Commission.

The focus of the document is on the scientific and technical aspects of cooperation on HTA in Europe. It assesses the factors influencing the scientific and technical cooperation (e.g., diverse national and regional HTA production needs and factors influencing the sustainability of the European cooperation on HTA in the long run). Moreover, it offers concrete recommendations on both the organisational and technical aspects of a future permanent network. Development of the EUnetHTA Recommendations is informed by the parallel development of the HTA Network Strategy paper which sets out the strategic vision of the newly established Network on European cooperation on HTA, including its long term sustainability.

The draft EUnetHTA Recommendations are currently undergoing review and commenting by the EUnetHTA Stakeholder Forum and the EUnetHTA Joint Action 2 Partner organisations nominated by the respective EU Member State Ministries.

The final EUnetHTA Recommendations will be presented at the HTA 2.0 Europe conference in Rome on October 30-31, 2014 (www.eunethta2014.it).
