European Commission’s President-elect, Jean-Claude Juncker, appoints Commissioners for Health and Food Safety and for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs

The European Commission’s President-elect has appointed Mr. Vytenis P. Andriukaitis (Lithuanian) and Ms Elżbieta Bieńkowska (Poland) as the new Commissioners for ‘Health and Food Safety’ and ‘Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs’ respectively.
In the mission letters, the President-elect suggests a new way of working for the European Commission with a clear and strong emphasis on European partnership by cooperating across portfolios and overcoming silo mentalities in a modern, efficient and transparent manner.

This approach is welcomed by EUnetHTA whose mission and vision also advocates jointly and voluntarily working together at the European level across silos to be able to bring value to the European citizens.

Join the discussions on “new ways” for European healthcare at the upcoming conference “HTA 2.0 Europe – Teaming Up for Value” 30-31 October 2014 in Rome, Italy. The conference is organised by EUnetHTA in cooperation with the European Commission.

The new European Commission is set to go into office in November of this year. Find the mission letters and lists of portfolios below:
