Launch of a public consultation during the EC-EUnetHTA Forum

The EC-EUnetHTA Forum “European cooperation on HTA: what’s next?” co-organised by the European Commission and the EUnetHTA Joint Action 3 was the first meeting between all 79 EUnetHTA partner organisations and the broader HTA stakeholder community.

The event was well attended and the lively discussions were structured around three panels:

• Panel 1: EU cooperation on HTA today
• Panel 2: The role of HTA: from early development to patient access
• Panel 3: Future of HTA in Europe

The speakers and panellists shared with the audience their experiences and put forward ideas for the future cooperation on HTA in Europe. This information will feed the EUnetHTA JA 3 activities and the EU reflection process on the future cooperation on HTA. During the event the Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Vytenis Andriukaitis, announced the launch of a public consultation on the Commission initiative for strengthening EU cooperation on health technology assessment. The consultation will run until 13 January 2017. The report of the Forum and the presentations will be available on the website.
