REQueST Tool and its vision paper
The Registry Evaluation and Quality Standards Tool (REQueST) aims to support HTA organisations and other actors in guiding and evaluating registries for effective usage in HTA.
The tool has been developed to be a comprehensive resource that covers all important aspects relating to the quality of registries. The standards set out in the tool are universal and essential elements of good practice and evidence quality that are, therefore, relevant for different types of registries.
REQueST sits alongside the existing guidance on registries as a way to implement it.
Accompanying the tool is a ‘vision paper’ which explores the options for the long-term delivery, use and sustainability of REQueST beyond Joint Action 3.
Who by, and for what purposes, is REQueST designed to be used?
REQueST is designed to be used by i) evidence developers to assess the quality of their registry, and ii) international organisations considering whether to use registry data for HTA and regulatory purposes. The purpose is to highlight areas of a registry that need improvement in order to maximise the quality of its data and ensure that those data can be used for HTA and regulatory purposes.
Evidence developers that are interested in collaborating with EUnetHTA regarding the quality requirements for their registry are invited to contact WP5 lead at eunethta-has@has-sante.fr
REQueST development
The tool was developed by JA3 WP5 partners on the basis of the results of the PARENT joint action. The tool went through an extensive review and testing phase by EUnetHTA partners and stakeholders during its development. Public consultation on the tool and vision paper was carried out in May/June 2019.
